Calf Rearer & Relief Milker Smithill Limited – Southland Smithill Limited is a progressive family-owned dairy farming business operating four dairy farms and support blocks in Southland. We are seeking a reliable and motivated Calf Rearer & Relief Milker to join our team for the upcoming calving season, with the potential for ongoing work for the right person. About the role This is a hands on position that combines calf rearing, relief milking, and general farm support. You'll work alongside experienced farm managers and be involved in all aspects of caring for our youngest stock while helping support farm operations during our busiest time of year. We are looking for 2 staff members to Join us from calving season onwards. Your main job is to feed new born calves, prepare calf pens, shift calves as required. Give some basic remady or treatment if needed.  Approx 450 calves to rear. There is possibility of some relief milking work for you if you are willing to do it. Some working with animals experience preferred but not necessary. Working hours per week ranging from 30 to 50 with hourly rate from $24 to $30 depending on your capabilties. Shared accommodation available on farm, on a agreed weekly charge.

We are looking for a drive in Calf Rearer/Relief milker for this current season 2026, from July til September with possible on-going work with Relief Milking throughout the year. Must have good experience in calf rearing, 1 farm has 200 and the 2nd farm has 260 spring calving cows. A good hourly rate offered depending on experience, must have reference and live in New Zealand in our area, we are not an accredited employer.
