Assists in efficient and hygienic milking routine. Start times are 3:30am and 1.30pm daily. -Feed: Controls weeds. Set up break fences. Assist with pasture management as directed by Farm Manager.  -Animals: Assists in the safe handling of animals, reports any health and welfare issues as per farm policy. - Team responsibilities: Contribute to an effective team working environment. Milk Production - maintain a grade free and low SCC standard. Stock Management - Assist on all sorts of animal health issues. Environmental Management - Assist to meet all regional compliance Health and Safety - Comply with all health and safety requirements.

40 aside herringbone shed, 10 mins out of Temuka. Understands and implements efficient milking practice, training of new staff and keeping records of animal health treatments. Identify common health issues and treat animals accordingly. Competent in all aspects of calving and treating down cows. shifting Effluent. pasture management skills be handy but full training will be given on how to do a farm walk. Safety is paramount on the farm, safe use of bikes, vehicles and tractors. also  need to be punctual,  tidy and able to plan out daily activities. good attitude, time management and be efficient. English speaking and understanding/good communication. Farm is smoke and drug free. Applicant must pass a drug test before starting the role plus random test during the season.Need to be eligible to work in New Zealand with at least 2 years dairy farming experience. We are looking to bring on new staff to help fill the newly available rolls for next season. Some current staff are progressing into higher positions within in the business also opening up their current positions.   The Farms:   Located on the South side of the Rangitata river, these 2 neighboring properties will be run under the same management next season. Each farm is very similar, but also very different to one another. The farms are 10min to Temuka, 30 min to Timaru or Ashburton.
