We are looking for two Dairy Farm Assistants to work at our dairy farms located in Eyrewell Forrest in North Canterbury. Your role as a Dairy Farm Assistant will be:   To assist in the daily operation of an approximate 750 cow dairy operation in North Canterbury. General Farm Duties Include: Milking: To operate the milk plant and milk through a rotary cowshed. Clean and wash dairy shed to a high standard as per Fonterra hygiene standard. Animal Health: To identify, treat and record all animal health events. Treat mastitis and lame cows. Communicate with other staff to ensure animal health and safety is at a high standard. Pasture: To allocate the correct amount of feed required per herd Manage rotation length as per rotation planner. Strong communication required with all other staff. We are looking to bring on new staff to help fill the newly available rolls for next season. Some current staff are progressing into higher positions within in the business also opening up their current positions.   The Farms:   Located on the South side of the Rangitata river, these 2 neighboring properties will be run under the same management next season. Each farm is very similar, but also very different to one another. The farms are 10min to Temuka, 30 min to Timaru or Ashburton.
