We are looking for a farm assistant to help cover milkings and other farm duties. We run 680 cows through a 54 bale rotary. We also have another property which milks 400 cows through a 40 aside herringbone. Ideally looking for someone who would can  milk in rotary and herringbone sheds. Tractor driving ability would be a bonus but not essential.

We require an honest reliable Herd Manager to join our team in Southland. 2 years experience  or a qualification Level 4 or above required . Understands and takes responsibility for daily tasks such as running of the dairy, effluent management and feeding. Completes tasks with minimal supervision and can supervise and train other staff. Looks for opportunities to work more effectively and efficiently to improve the business.   Duties include but not limited to Milking: Manages an efficient and hygienic milking routine Animals: Manages safe handling of animals, records, reports and treat, any health issue   Feed: Controls weeds. Sets break fences and feeds out as directed. Environment: Assists with nutrients, effluent and water management People: Manages junior farm staff. Works well with others, building a strong team culture Machinery Vehicles and Technology: Safely uses and maintains plant and farm vehicles. Pay rate is $30 - $35 per hour....

In other words if you’re applying from overseas don’t waste your time.*** Part time on farm engineer / general farm hand. Swift Agri Limited is a farming business running 3500 ewes. We lease two farms in Southland, the larger being located at Redan where most of the stock work is required and another in Winton as well as the family farm in Woodlands that we don’t handle the day to day operations of but work in closely with and where most of the engineering related tasks are carried out. We like to do most farm related tasks in house and to a high standard avoiding out sourcing work where possible. This includes servicing and maintenance of farm machinery. Due to an increased workload we are looking for a skilled individual to step in for some regular part time work so that we can continue to farm at a high standard. The ideal candidate would be a highly skilled farmer...
