About the Role We are looking for a reliable, motivated and experienced Assistant Herd Manager to join our dairy farming team on our 420-cow farm in Mihi, Reporoa. The farm operates with Halter technology, and the successful applicant will work closely with the Herd Manager and farm owners to maintain high standards of animal care, pasture management and day-to-day farm operations. This is a hands-on position suited to someone who enjoys working with cows, takes pride in their work and is keen to develop their dairy farming skills. Key Responsibilities Assist with the day-to-day management of the 420-cow dairy herd. Assist with milking and ensure cows are handled calmly and safely. Monitor animal health, welfare and condition. Assist with calving, mating and other seasonal herd management activities. Identify cows requiring attention and report health issues promptly.
