Drive-in milker/farm assistant who can milk as part of a 2-person team in the mornings through a  herringbone shed with cup removers. Additional tasks as required such as bringing in cows & setting up fences. Potentially extra hours available for pm milkings, fencing, tree felling/wood cutting, weed control etc. This role would also be suitable for an ambitious trainee with a desire and passion to develop the skills necessary for a career in dairy farming. This farm comprises of Total 125ha, 108ha effective flat to hilly contour on the side of Pirongia Mountain, 380 kiwi cross cows, split calving, 10 weeks AI only, 36ashb, system 4+, Allflex electronic monitoring, Halo water, weather and effluent monitoring, Protrack & feed pad. We are seeking an experienced 2IC who has an obvious passion for the industry and is keen to learn & progress in it, has excellent animal health & husbandry and all general on farm skills, including good tractor experience. Great communication & a 'can do' attitude are a must.  The remuneration package offered for the successful applicant will be $25-33/hr for a minimum 30 and maximum 55 hours per week. We are currently milking 400 cows through a 30-a-side herringbone shed, conveniently located just a 5-minute drive from Hamilton in the Puketaha area. The role involves: Driving to the farm for each shift. Milking (cupping on) alongside myself or our 2IC. Finishing with a quick wash-down of the shed.
