Manage the hygiene in the dairy shed and shed maintaince Must be experienced with rotary shed Must be quiet with livestock  Must be able to train seasonal staff in the dairy shed Sheep experience ideal but not necessary 

We are currently looking for an Assistant Manager to join our Sheep Milking Farm. This year we plan to milk 850 ewes and carry 150 Beef Cattle. We are a busy farm located minutes from Te Awamutu with lots of variety. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who is looking to try out the sheep dairy industry. The following skills are required: • A strong understanding of pasture management and feed budgeting skills • Experience in dairy milking methods, milking processes and shed/plant hygiene standards • Practical experience in fencing, weed spraying, effluent/irrigator use • Feeding out • Handling animals • Knowledge in animal welfare • Strong experience with farm machinery including motorbikes, tractors, feed out wagons or farm utility vehicles and ability to conduct farm maintenance including mowing • Ability to keep accurate records • Excellent communication and management skills • Minimum of 3 years dairy farm experience The key tasks for the role...

Releif milker required for the 26/27 due to current reliever unable to continue on.  350 cows, Inshed feeding, alflex collars and automatic drafting. Flat to rolling country.  The relief milker will be required for 3-4 days a week from the 1st of September until the 31st of May 2027.  Accommodation can be provided at $250 pw, deducted from wages (power and internet included) 3 bedroom warm home, new carpet, garage and a fully fenced section. Farm is located in ohakune, friendly quiet cows. No experience needed, and extra work can be available during calving and busy periods.  This is fixed term only for one season.
