We seek a Farm Assistant or Milk Harvester to join our friendly team milking 700 cows. Farming experience is preferred but other outdoor skills are valued too. This job is at least 30 hours work per week.  Wednesdays and Thursdays off.  It will consist mostly of milking and cleaning at cowshed.  When the cows are dry, the work is mostly farm maintenance. We have 700 Friesian X cows through a 50 aside herringbone shed with inshed feeding, protrack, ACRs and auto teat spray. Spring calving. Supportive farm owners who live and work on the farm. Due to unforeseen circumstances we are looking for someone to join us on our Dairy Farm near Morrinsville. We are milking 300 crossbred cows on 107ha 15 minutes North of Morrinsville. We have a brand new 30 aside herringbone cowshed with automatic cup removers and auto yard wash. There is a tidy 3 bedroom home available. The farm is grass based with grass and grass silage as the main feeds so this is a great place to learn excellent pasture management. We do about 110,000kgMS per year and typically go OAD in January each year. We aim for best practice in every area especially cow health, incalf rates, SCC and youngstock rearing. We rear ~70 replacement calves and they stay on farm until 1st May. This is a great opportunity to work with the farm owners and set yourself up for a great career in dairying. We are looking for an extra pair of hands over the next 8 weeks to help with calving and rostered days off.  Duties will include milking, helping pick up calves and possibly help with feeding calves at times.  Work will mainly be in the mornings and could potentially have the afternoons free if that suits you Anyone level of experience will be considered and we can fit the right person in . There will be the option of ongoing work after calving but wont be as many hours.
