We are seeking 2 experienced farm workers (2+years) to work as Herd Managers on a 450-cow farm in the Waimate area, milking through a 40 Aside Herringbone shed.  You'll have a range of duties to keep you busy, interested and developing including: Fetching cows and milking cows Identifying and alerting managers to sick cows (e.g. mastitis, lame cows)  Feeding stock Record Keeping Irrigation - Klines, pivots, etc. Effluent Management Calving cows Shed and equipment maintenance Training staff and communication with senior staff and other general farm duties. We are seeking an experienced farm worker (12+ months) to work as a Herd Manager on a 1300-cow farm in the Waimate area, operating a robotic milking shed. You'll have a range of duties to keep you busy, interested and developing including: - Milking and monitoring milk quality, - stock handling and feeding (feed mgt), - fencing, weed control, - calving, calf rearing, - shed maintenance & preparation, - tractor operation for feeding out, baling, mowing and silage - monitoring, recording and maintaining animal health - and other general farm duties. You will work a minimum of 30 hours per week and an average of 50 hours per week. Since farm work is dependent on a number of unknown factors like weather and animals, any hours worked beyond the agreed total in a fortnightly pay period will be paid at the agreed overtime rate.
