We are requiring a new person to join our team for the 26/27 season.  This position could be good for someone who is a farm assistant looking to move to a herd manager position. You will need to have a minimum of 2.5 years of Nz dairy experience, preferably on large herd farms.  Our farm is situated halfway between Methven and Ashburton.  We are fully irrigated and run a 54 bail shed. The job will include: Getting cows in and milking them Setting up break fences Must be confident in all aspects on animal health—detecting mastitis, treating lame cows etc Be able to drive a tractor, more training will be given Assist with calving cows Have great shed hygiene and general farm tidiness Basic pasture management and willing to learn more Have great stock sense Able to help with young stock Must be confident on a 2 or 4 wheel motorbike Preferably have completed some AGITO papers or similar qualifications.
