We’re looking for someone who: ● Can preferably operate a tractor / skid steer and other machinery ● Is physically fit and comfortable with manual labour ● Has a strong understanding of health and safety and can follow safe work procedures ● Is reliable, practical and has a good work ethic ● Can work well as part of a team ● Holds a current driver licence ● Can pass a pre-employment drug test Experience with farming, machinery or similar physical work would be an advantage, but reliability, safety and a willingness to get stuck in are most important. Due to unforeseen circumstances we are looking for someone to join us on our Dairy Farm near Morrinsville. We are milking 300 crossbred cows on 107ha 15 minutes North of Morrinsville. We have a brand new 30 aside herringbone cowshed with automatic cup removers and auto yard wash. There is a tidy 3 bedroom home available. The farm is grass based with grass and grass silage as the main feeds so this is a great place to learn excellent pasture management. We do about 110,000kgMS per year and typically go OAD in January each year. We aim for best practice in every area especially cow health, incalf rates, SCC and youngstock rearing. We rear ~70 replacement calves and they stay on farm until 1st May. This is a great opportunity to work with the farm owners and set yourself up for a great career in dairying. Top 400 cows twice a day, the rest once a day morning only, everything once a day March to end of May. We have a system that allows for not getting cows in, they walk themselves to milking while the coffees being drunk. Calves are grazed off farm from January till they return in May the following year as in calf. All ground work is done in house so plenty of tractor work available. We are looking for a permanent staff member to jump aboard our team once our Scottsman's visa has run out in November. Preferably chasing a character that knows how to jump into battle when the busy time is on. Must have a can do attitude and be willing to get their hands dirty, be able to laugh and have a genuine interest in dairy farming. 3 bedroom house with log burner. Firewood available on farm. A drive in position has become available on our farm. 25 min east of invercargill in Gorge Road  This role can be tailored for anyone with dairy experience.  3 full time staff including you plus sharemilker and sharemilker's wife. A modern cowshed  Modern machinery  We are a high performance unit which rewards all staff based on their performance. No on farm accommodation but will contribute to travel and off farm accommodation.
