THIS POSITION IS ONLY FOR NZ residents and citizens, must be currently in NZ. Due to unforeseen circumstances, we are looking for someone to start 15th July, 5 minutes from Woodville, 15 min from Palmerston North,  700 cows' fully self contained with a beef calf rearing operation on the side.l Split calving 600 Spring 100 Autumn All youngstock on farm, 2 cow sheds 18aside and 37 aside at different ends of the farm,  In-Shed feeding in both sheds 37 aside has ACR's, Auto teat spray and Auto draft. We have halter collars on all cows, (our 4th season with Halter) Brand new house (2 years old) 3 bedrooms plus office, We are award winning operators; our current full-time staff have been with us for 8 and 9 years respectively.  We will cater this position depending on experience, farm assistant to herd manager.  We encourage and support ITO training, and for the right person there will be future opportunities to progress within our business.

A bit about Wakapua Farm The farm is set on 150ha located in South Horowhenua, down Kuku Beach Road, with a support block located nearby in Manakau. We are milking around 320 spring calving cows through a 25 aside hearing bone. We operate a predominately grass system with the strategic use of supplements through a 123 metre long covered feedpad. The farm operates with 2 full-time staff on a 11/3 roster. Having been in the industry for over 45 years, we believe that we have created a great operation and that we are excellent employers. We are seeking a Farm Assistant starting 29 June 2026. The role will report to our operations manager, who oversees the day to day running of the dairy farms and support blocks. We are looking for a reliable, hard working person who is comfortable around animals to join our friendly team, there is also the opportunity for the right person in time to progress to 2IC.
