We are seeking a farm assistant, to work alongside three other employee's and farm owners. Milking through a 60 bale rotary cowshed with ACR and automatic teat sprayer. We have a milk harvester which milks 70% of the milking's. JCB telehandler and mixer wagon. Someone with a great attitude and keen to give it a go, with a strong work ethic and taking pride in the position, workplace and their accommodation. The applicant will be expected to take part of all duties related to the running of our farming operation. Milking: Assists in efficient and hygienic milking routine. Follows procedure to produce high quality milk. Carries out milk harvesting tasks as directed and is developing correct skills to milk efficiently and safely. • Helps set up dairy prior to milking and on time. • Milks cows efficiently and safely, as directed. • Uses backing gate well. • Teat sprays well. • Marks cows well. Understands factors that affect milk quality, and the reasons for regulations around milk quality safety. • Understands the cost and implications of grading milk and high somatic cell counts. • Helps manage ‘dirty cows’. • Implements dairy hygiene requirements. We are looking for a reliable  and motivated person to join our team milking 330 cows in a 30 aside herringbone shed. The farm is situated approximately 15km from Palmerston North. The farm is flat and productive. We are looking for someone with a strong work ethic and a willingness to learn.
