Windley Lands LTD is looking for a new team member to join 2 other people in the day to day running of our runoff block. Located 15kms out of Mossburn  Windley is a large scale operation with flat/rolling and some steep land that deals with calves, heifers, bulls and dry cows.  You will be working along side the farm manager and 2IC to provide the best environment for animals to thrive for the future.  Job entails  Shifting stock - temporary fences Wintering- winding up and setting fences, tractor driving etc. Yard work - Drenching, weighing, loading and unloading stock. Animal health, treating and recording. Tractor driving - Feeding silage, loading unloading bales. We provide a 2 bedroom cottage, heat pump, double glazed windows. We ride 2 wheelers on farm so some experience on 2 wheelers is preferred. Looking for an enthusiastic farm assistant Experience preferred but not necessary as full training will be provided. Milking 350 cows through a 40ASHB  Duties include but not limited to:  Milking, fencing , calf rearing, spraying, general maintenance and animal husbandry.  Not accredited employers 

We are looking for a farm assistant to help cover milkings and other farm duties. We run 680 cows through a 54 bale rotary. We also have another property which milks 400 cows through a 40 aside herringbone. Ideally looking for someone who would can  milk in rotary and herringbone sheds. Tractor driving ability would be a bonus but not essential.

Feed Production Management • Assist with any feed planning or the management of as appropriate. • Assist to manage weeds and pests to maintain pasture and crops. • Milking • Maintain all appropriate effluent management records. • Know what to do when things go wrong. Animals • Implement animal health program to maintain good health. • Assist with calving and the calf rearing program to achieve minimal losses and ensure high quality replacements are available for the herd. • Assist to manage repairs and maintenance schedule for all plant, machinery and infrastructure. • Ensure all relevant company policies are understood and adhered to. • Experience/qualification is an advantage but not essential. • Dedication, commitment and willing to learn are the traits we are looking for.

We run a self contained 800ha dairy farm, with a 54 bale rotary shed, wintering barns and split calving.  Some experience preferred but not essential. Applicant should reside within New Zealand currently.  The successful applicant will be motivated, show initiative and get along well in a team environment.
