We are on the lookout for two staff members to join our small team based 20 minutes out of invercargill in Southland My partner and I contract milk two farms two minutes apart milking 420 spring calving friesian cows on each farm. We are looking for a 2ic and a farm assistant for the upcoming season starting June the 1st. Though we would be happy for someone to start earlier than this. Both farms have excellent infrastructure and machinery including a 40 aside herring-bone and 50 bail rotary sheds with acrs, in shed feeding and automated wash and drafting systems. Both farms also utilise wintering barns/feed pads and are maintained to a very high standard. We are very passionate about our stock and strive for the best results. We set high standards of animal health, dairy hygiene and general farm tidiness. We require an honest and reliable person to assist with all aspects of farming tasks on our farm located at Kapuka, Southland. Milking 600 cows through 40 a side herringbone shed. Applicant would need to be punctual, reliable and has a genuine enthusiasm for working with livestock, machinery and outdoors. Experience is preferred but not essential. Could suit a hardworking beginner, partner of a student. Position open to those with eligible visas and NZ residents. Roster is 6 days on 1 day off during calving & 6 days on 2 days off rest of the season.

Part time Dairy Farm assistant - 3 days a week, general farm duties. Can be flexible for the right person. Must be honest and reliable. Experience preferred, but the right attitude is essential. 

We are looking for three (3) Dairy Farm Assistants to work on a 700-cow farm in the Otautau area, milking through a 46-aside Herringbone shed. While previous experience is preferred, it is not required for this role. You'll have a range of duties to keep you busy, interested and developing including: Milking twice a day shifting cows and feeding  fencing, weed control calving, calf rearing shed cleaning and setup identifying and alerting managers to sick cows setting fences operating farm machinery and other general farm duties. Weekly hours are a minimum of 30 and a maximum of 55. Since farm work is dependent on a number of unknown factors like weather and animals, any hours worked beyond the agreed maximum in a fortnightly pay period will be paid at the agreed overtime rate.
