Hi we are a 970 cow farm in Waikite Valley 20 minutes south of Rotorua made up with 2 cowsheds. We are looking for 2 Fulltime Dairy Farm Assistants to work alongside our farm managers on each farm. A couple of people that are prepared to do an honest days work and able to work in a team environment, putting effort in and working for each other achieving the same goals. One farm runs the young herd and the other farm runs the older cows. The farms calve down together one shed is a colostrum shed with the other being the milking shed, once calving is over they separate into 2 farms again. Both farms are flat to rolling contour, both the sheds are 36 aside herringbone with meal feeders. The farm has a 3 bedroom house available which means accommodation will be shared. We are looking for you to have at least 3 seasons experience so all round work can be achieved. We are looking for a Dairy Farm Assistant to work on a 440-cow farm in Huntly west, milking through a 34cups HB shed. While previous experience is preferred, it is not required for this role. You'll have a range of duties to keep you busy, interested and developing including: Milking twice a day shifting cows and feeding  fencing, weed control calving, calf rearing shed cleaning and setup identifying and alerting managers to sick cows setting fences operating farm machinery and other general farm duties. Candidates are required to provide good related references.  To be considered you must: provide a CV which is current, correct and complete or alternative evidence of work . be a solid worker and with good character (where possible, we will do a criminal check) be physically fit be able to pass a pre-employment drug test have at least a restricted driver licence
