We have a position available for a Dairy Farm Assistant on an 890-cow farm in the Omakau area, milking through a 54 Rotary Bale shed. Experience is preferred but not required for this role. You'll have a range of duties to keep you busy, interested and developing including: Milking twice a day Shifting cows and feeding Virtual fencing/Halter Weed control Calving, calf rearing Shed cleaning and setup Identifying and alerting managers to sick cows Setting fences General farm duties Weekly hours are a minimum of 40 and a maximum of 50. Since farm work is dependent on a number of unknown factors like weather and animals, any hours worked beyond the agreed maximum in a fortnightly pay period will be paid at the agreed overtime rate.
