Farm worker wanted - Immediate start. We are on the look out for someone to join our team on a 650 cow dairy farm in Hororata with an immidiate start, finishing at the end of September. Our roster is 9 days on, 3 days off, 7 days on, 2 days off. This means you will have either fr/sat/sun off or mon/tues. We're looking for someone with either : Dairy shed / milking experience or Calf rearing experience. The ideal candidate would be fit, efficient, reliable, able to work independently and happy working in a busy dairy farming environment. We are looking for a calf rearer to join our team starting mid of July. Rearing about 350 heifer calves plus bobbies and beefies at 4 days old. Roster 6 on 1 off, about 5 hours per day. About the Role; You'll be responsible for rearing approximately 130 replacement heifer calves from birth through to weaning. This is a lead calf rearing position with the support of other on farm staff on busy days. Our calf system is straightforward and well set up: - All calves receive their first feed via tube feeding - Calves are then transitioned onto an ad-lib feeding system once they are trained on feeders. - Straw, Meal and fresh water all available in their pens and are checked/refreshed/topped up daily. The farm will calve 630 cows total.
