We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic  Assistant Herd Manager to join our high-performing dairy team in Ikamatua, Grey Valley, West Coast, starting 20th July 2026. You will work with 650 predominantly Friesian cows, milked using a 54 bail rotary shed with ACRs, Protrack, in-shed feeding, Datamar Collars, and irrigated paddocks. We are seeking a motivated and reliable Assistant Herd Manager to join our dairy farming team. This is a full-time position working alongside the Farm Manager to ensure the smooth day-to-day operation of the farm. The successful applicant will be actively involved in all aspects of dairy farming, including milking, animal health, pasture management, machinery operation, calving, and general farm maintenance. This role requires a hands-on individual with excellent stockmanship, strong work ethic, and the ability to work independently while contributing positively to a team environment. We run a 50 a side herringbone cowshed with automatic cup removers and automatic teat sprayer, ProTrak and cow collars.
