We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic  Assistant Herd Manager to join our high-performing dairy team in Ikamatua, Grey Valley, West Coast, starting 20th July 2026. You will work with 650 predominantly Friesian cows, milked using a 54 bail rotary shed with ACRs, Protrack, in-shed feeding, Datamar Collars, and irrigated paddocks. This is an excellent opportunity for someone committed to furthering their dairy career in a supportive and forward-thinking environment. Our operation values teamwork and utilises modern technology across all aspects of farm management. Requirements: - Experience working on dairy farms  would be helpful but not essential - Strong work ethic and positive attitude - Excellent communication and time management skills - Commitment to developing skills and learning - Legally entitled to work in New Zealand - Understanding of animal health and welfare monitoring

Assistant Herd Manager

We are seeking a motivated and reliable Assistant Herd Manager to join our dairy farming team. This is a full-time position working alongside the Farm Manager to ensure the smooth day-to-day operation of the farm. The successful applicant will be actively involved in all aspects of dairy farming, including milking, animal health, pasture management, machinery operation, calving, and general farm maintenance. This role requires a hands-on individual with excellent stockmanship, strong work ethic, and the ability to work independently while contributing positively to a team environment. We run a 50 a side herringbone cowshed with automatic cup removers and automatic teat sprayer, ProTrak and cow collars.
