We are after an experienced Herd Manager for our 1100 cow dairyfarm 15 minutes from Tapawera, 45 minutes from Richmond.
The farm is bordered by the Wangapeka River, famous for trout fishing, and a short drive to Kahurangi National Park. Able Tasman Park, town, beaches & skiing all within 50 minutes drive.
We peak milk 1100 cows through a 60 bale rotary cow shed. Shed is equipped with protrac, auto drafting, auto test spraying & Cell Sense. We also have Halter collars on the cows. The farm is well set up with great machinery and infrastructure, tidy & attractive. We are irrigated by 2 centre pivots & 30ha of post sprinklers.
We are looking for someone with a positive attitude, punctual & reliable & most importantly a great sense of humor. Annual hours average hours 1950PA. We have a well structured roster, with regular time out of the shed, that revolves around so everyone gets to do all jobs on the farm.

A minimum of 2 years NZ dairy farming experience required. Must be motivated & enthusiastic with a positive attitude. We need some one capable with assisting in the day to day management, with duties including;
**Pasture allocation
**Dairy shed management including monthly checks
**Animal health & lame cow management
**Assisting with staff training & management
**Summer crop management
**Other daily duties needed to run the dairy farm

375ha milking platform, 442 effective hectares. 185ha irrigated. Milkers run as 2 herds, with herd 2 put on once a day milking from February.
