Job Description

Location: Drive-in Position/Hamilton North
Roster: 12 Days On / 2 Days Off
Salary: $69,160 per annum
Guaranteed Hours: Minimum 30 hours per week

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Herd Manager to join our dairy farming operation. Milking 230 cows through a well-maintained 26-aside herringbone shed, this is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys hands-on dairy farming and takes pride in animal health, pasture management, and maintaining high standards.

About the Role

As Herd Manager, you will work alongside the farm owner/manager and be involved in:

  • Milking and shed management
  • Animal health monitoring and treatment
  • Calving and young stock management
  • Feeding and pasture management
  • Recording farm data and maintaining farm standards
  • Operating and maintaining farm machinery when required
  • General farm maintenance and upkeep

What We Are Looking For

Applicants must:

  • Have a minimum of 2-3 years' dairy farming experience
  • Hold a full, current driver's licence
  • Be reliable, hardworking, and have a positive attitude
  • Have good stockmanship and animal welfare standards
  • Be able to work independently and as part of a team
  • Have no criminal convictions
  • Be drug-free and willing to participate in random workplace drug testing
