Hou Totara Farm is looking for an experienced, hands-on Farm Manager to lead the day-to-day operation of the farm at Dannevirke. You'll take ownership of pasture and herd management, develop up a small team, and keep the farm running safely, efficiently, and in line with good environmental and animal welfare practice.
This is a genuine opportunity to step into a farm that is actively investing in technology to make the job easier and the operation more efficient. The farm has recently rolled out the smaXtec animal health monitoring with an automated drafting gate system, the outgoing Farm Manager, can potentially be available for a hand over. We do have current staff and family who know the system, so you won't be figuring it all out alone.
Hou Totara Farm is a family owned dairy farm milking 240 Kiwicross cows on a once a day (OAD) regime. We are located 5 minutes out of Dannevirke township, with a school bus at the end of the road 1 km from the homestead.
