Job Description

We require a Farm Manager for our farm 5km from Morrinsville. The farm is 115ha effective, flat to rolling with 10% steeper country. The farm is a system 3 with Maize grown on farm, and in shed meal feeders. 

The shed is a 36 bale rotary with cup removers, centrally located, one person can milk. 

We are looking for an experienced Farm Manager with excellent pasture management skills, animal health and self/time management skills as the owner lives off farm.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Pasture Management: Achieving high pasture utilization, managing rounds, and overseeing maize silage and cropping transitions.
  • Animal Health & Breeding: Maintaining exceptional herd health, somatic cell count management, and mating programmes.
  • Feed System Operations: Managing the System 3 feeding regime, including the in-shed meal system and silage feeding.
  • Self-Management: Overseeing day-to-day operations, farm hygiene, and compliance autonomously.

The position may suit an experienced 2ic or an Assistant manager looking for the next step.
