Job Description

An opportunity is available for an experienced and motivated Herd Manager on a progressive dairy farm located approximately 20km southeast of Te Awamutu.

The Farm

  • 270ha dairy operation
  • 800 cows milked (150 autumn calving, 650 spring calving)
  • 50-bale rotary shed with cup removers and meal feeder
  • Annual on-farm Jersey bull sale held each September
  • All young stock retained on farm
  • Very well-maintained property with excellent systems in place

The Role

You will work alongside the farm owners and team, taking responsibility for the day-to-day management of the herd and assisting with the smooth operation of the farm. This is a hands-on position that requires a strong work ethic, particularly through calving and other busy periods.
