Job opportunity: 2 dairy herd managers for the 2025-2026 season. 

We milk twice a day. The farm is located in a remote area with less reception. Our contours are hilly to steep requiring all staff to be equally skilled in all aspects of farming. 

Duties will include but not limited to 

  • Getting cows in 
  • setup fences specifically according to the contour and grass to allocate correct feed amounts as instructed 
  • sound Knowledge of pasture management 
  • must be able to work in certain patterns within a team as instructed 
  • MUST BE SOMEONE with GOOD TIME MANAGEMENT is top priority 
  • Milking and keeping the shed clean and hygienic to produce high quality milk
  • Weed control and general farm maintenance
  • Experienced in calf rearing and calf health monitoring and treating
  • Experience in riding a 2-wheeler & a 4-wheeler 
  • Following all health and safety policies and help to achieve farm goals

You must:

  •  Be honest, reliable and hardworking
  • be skilled in working on hilly contour 
  •  Able to work both in a team environment and unsupervised
  •  Have initiative, be motivated and willing to learn
  • Must be able to pass a drug test & we do random drug test throughout the season.
  • Plan, direct, delegate and perform daily chores in a timely and organized fashion for the farm to include preparing the shed, feeding animals as directed, milking, bottle feed calves.
  • Maintain high quality healthy dairy herds. Identify and respond to health, environmental and nutritional requirements of cows, heifers, and calves when appropriate. Follow Dairy Farm Manager directives and veterinarian program.
  • Manage the feed and inventory of the facility.
  • Ensure all organic dairy sanitation procedures are followed while milking, disposing of treated cows’ milk properly, and checking the milk cooling properly.
  • Keeping Grade free quality and Milk excellence is the KEY JOB 
  • Perform necessary procedures to guarantee that milk shipped meets the standards
  • Able to work alone and in a team environment with a strong sense of accountability and insight to communicate with proper management.
  • Clean the facility after any movement in or out of the shed in all weather conditions and facilitate repair and communicate maintenance needed at the site to the Dairy Farm Manager.
  • Record keeping Accurately Calvings, matings, calves in Minda and report data and maintain current and accurate information of farm performance timely and in an organized fashion.
  •  Attend company meetings as assigned.
  • Fix and maintain fences and water supplies for stock
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.
  • A level 4 Qualification AND/OR a minimum of 2 year of experience in farming is required  
  • MUST BE A NON-SMOKER AS WE GOT NO-SMOKING POLICY IMPLEMENTED ONTHE FARM & IN THE HOUSES.

Must be respectful to other Staff on farm and at houses

Minimum of 30hours/week guaranteed. 

Roster: Rotating roster depending on time of the season. Dry off 6 on 2 off, calving 5 on 2 off; 6 on 1 off and rest of the season 8 on 2 off. It may vary and change depending on the months and season. 

Wage: $30-37hr (according to experience) 

$150-$350 Rent will be deducted weekly from wages in according to different properties on farm, the houses/accommodations type and in sharing accommodations
