An exciting opportunity exists for an experienced Assistant Manager or 2IC looking to take a step into a Farm Management role.
Location: Lake Arapuni rd, Putaruru
Farm Details:
• 129 ha
• milking 320 Friesian X cows
• 26 ashb with meal feeders and auto cup-removers
Our Team:
You will be assisting the farm owner with the day-to-day running of the dairy farm with the opportunity to upskill and run the operation sole charge.
Start Date:
August/September 2026
Key Skills/Responsibilities:
Milking shed management and hygiene.
Animal health; identifying and treating (e.g. mastitis, lameness, milk fever).
Records; assist with animal records including; calving, mating, animal health and treatments.
Pasture management; farm walks, calculating feed demand/supply, identifying pasture surplus/deficit, break feeding crops and pasture (experience unnecessary but willing to learn).
R & M - weed control, fencing, water system repairs (lines and troughs), effluent management.
Machinery operation and maintenance - must be comfortable operating farm machinery including 2 and 4-wheelers, side-by-side, tractors (incl. feeding-out) as our farm is rolling to steep in areas.We are seeking someone that is passionate about dairy farming and enjoys seeing the cows and operation doing well.
