We are looking for a reliable and motivated Herd Manager to join our team on our 1,100-goat dairy farm.
This is a hands-on role for someone with dairy farming experience who enjoys working with animals and takes pride in maintaining high standards.
Milking through our rotary shed.
Maintaining a clean and hygienic milking shed.
Monitoring goat health and treating animal health issues.
Handling goats calmly and confidently.
Operating a tractor and loader to feed out to dairy goats and heifer grazers.
Managing aspects of machinery maintenance.
Carrying out general farm maintenance and helping keep the farm running smoothly.
Farming experience.
A positive attitude and strong work ethic.
Honest, reliable, and able to work independently as well as part of a team.
Good stockmanship and a commitment to high standards of animal welfare and farm maintenance.
45 hours per week.
A 4 days on, 1 day off, 6 days on, 3 days off roster, with every second weekend off.
Ongoing on-farm training and opportunities to complete Primary ITO goat-specific training.

Kaimai Farms operates two dairy goat farms at Manawaru.
The two farms are 50Ha and 90Ha, milking approx. 900 and 1100 goats this season.
The smaller farm has an 80 bale rotary milking shed and the larger farm a 90 bale rotary milking shed.
The goats are housed in a large barn adjacent to each milking shed. The farm is located at Manawaru (15 mins from Matamata, 10 mins from Te Aroha and 20 mins from Morrinsville).
