you will be paid maximum of $36 and minimum of $35 per hour

Key Requirement:

Relevant qualification or 2 years of relevant experience required

Breeding and raising livestock for the production of milk, ensuring high standards of animal husbandry and herd genetics.

· Monitoring and maintaining the health and condition of livestock, identifying health issues early, coordinating veterinary care, and implementing disease prevention programs.

· Providing and managing pastures and fodder to maintain optimal nutritional levels and maximise milk production.

· Planning and executing the movement of livestock to optimise feeding opportunities, pasturere generation, and herd welfare.

· Organising and conducting farming operations, including catching, drenching, milking livestock, sterilising equipment, and ensuring efficient collection, grading, and packaging of dairy produce.

· Directing and overseeing all general farming activities such as maintenance of pens, sheds, milking facilities, fertilising pastures, controlling pests and weeds, and growing fodder crops.

· Maintaining fences, farm equipment, and water supply systems to ensure the safety and well-being of livestock and farm staff.

· Managing the sale, purchase, and transportation of livestock and dairy produce, negotiating with buyers and suppliers to maximise profitability.

· Maintaining accurate records of herd performance, production outputs, health treatments, and farm activities; analysing data to inform decision-making.

· Monitoring market trends and production demands to plan herd and farm activities in line with business goals and contract requirements.

· Recruiting, training, supervising, and managing farm staff and contractors, fostering a productive, safe, and compliant working environment.

· Developing and implementing herd management plans, production schedules, and operational policies aligned with industry best practice and regulatory standards.
