NZ Dairy Farming Experience - 3 years minimum required
Current Ability - Must have Drivers License, Be able to drive Tractors and silage wagon/bale feeder etc, Ride 2 wheeler Motorbikes.
You will be efficient, quiet and thorough Milking "The Girls". Picking any ill health and treating. Experience with Lameness skills beneficial or willing to learn. General shed maintenance and upkeep skills, with high hygiene is essential.
Having a good eye and experience in pasture management an advantage.
Calving - Being fit, strong and capable is essential for the busy calving season. You will be required to work with the team for calf collection and help with difficult calvings.
Irrigation/Effluent - pivot irrigation with underslung effluent. Sprinklers in corners. So being able to have good work ethic with this over summer months (irrigation) is required. Effluent is a team responsibility but important to ensure all is running safe and well at every application.
General - you will have a good CV attached to this application with relevant and recent dairy references. Working well with our team and having excellent communication and a fun manner will make everyone's days easier! You must have no criminal convictions and be prepared to undergo drug testing.
ACR's, in shed feeding, Minda and Protrack installed in Rotary Shed.
Fantastic location close to Christchurch, with excellent facilities all nearby in Rangiora.

Canterbury Plains irrigated Dairy Farm on Waimakariri Irrigation Scheme. We have Pivot Irrigation along with some sprinklers. Good farm layout with central laneways, making short walking to cowshed which is central in the farm.
Milking through a rotary dairy shed, the farm runs efficiently with a strong focus on animal wellbeing and a quiet safe environment for the cows.
