We are looking for a Herd Manager to join our dairy farm team. The farm is a 500Ha property milking 1745 cows through an 80 bail rotary. We are currently looking for a motivated individual who will be capable of: Milking – must have the ability to milk unsupervised • Using temporary break fences • Identifying and treating health issues e.g. mastitis, milk fever, lameness • Demonstrate good communication skills • Experience working in, and leading a team • Identify and spray thistles and weeds • Drive motorbikes 2 and 4 wheelers • Cupping on cows in a rotary dairy • Reporting any problems on farm such as fences, machinery, stock etc, and the knowledge and skills to fix these errors when appropriate/ escalate up when needed • Work unsupervised • Be reliable and time efficient • Operate all equipment with care • Cleaning of dairy shed and identifying any problems with milking plant. The successful applicant must have: - current driver's license. - Two years experience on a NZ farm (or show exceptional skills in a New Zealand farm job already) - Include current CV, including details of NZ citizenship/ residency, or visa requirements and citizenship if not NZ. - Remuneration will be $70,000 total package.
