Key duties and responsibilities
The successful applicant will be involved in the daily operation of the dairy farm, including:
*Milking cows and operating the dairy shed efficiently and hygienically
*Monitoring animal health and reporting or assisting with treatment of sick or injured stock
*Moving and handling stock safely using modern farm systems, including Halter technology
*Feeding stock and assisting with pasture allocation and feed management
*Calf rearing and care of young stock
*Assisting with mating, calving and other seasonal farm tasks
*Cleaning and maintaining the milking shed, farm equipment and work areas
*Fencing, weed control and general farm maintenance
*Assisting with effluent management and maintaining farm hygiene standards
*Keeping basic farm records as required
*Following workplace health and safety procedures and animal welfare standards
*Supporting the Farm Manager in the day-to-day running of the farm.
Minimum requirements
Applicants must have:
*At least 2 years of relevant dairy farming experience
*Practical knowledge of dairy shed operations, stock handling and general farm work
*Ability to work rostered weekends, early starts and seasonal peak workloads
*Good communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team
*A reliable work ethic and commitment to animal welfare and farm hygiene

Desirable
Experience using dairy farm technology systems such as Halter
Experience with calf rearing, mating and calving support

Experience operating tractors, two-wheelers, four-wheelers or other farm machinery, where required and where appropriately licensed/trained
