We require a Farm Manager or 2 i/c to join our team.
Note the start date of 08/07/2026 but we are flexible for the right candidate. We're looking for someone to take over the day to day running of this Autumn calving 300 cow farm. There is plenty of support on farm but we are after a someone who can deliver results and works to a high standard.
This role has plenty of moving parts to manage to challenge an ambitious and energetic candidate. An eye for the details is required. With investment in Halter collars, drafting gate and cup removers the shed is now a sole operator shed. You will be assisted during the busy times (calving etc) by existing team members and employer.
Strong tractor skills are preferred with fed pad feeding and spraying of fertilisers (tow and fert) an important part of this role. You will also be expected to clean and maintain the farms machinery.
We expect you to keep the work place and home clean, tidy and organised. Strong record keeping and compliance skills are needed to take advantage of the opportunities offered by the investment in tech on farm.
You must have a strong focus on growing and harvesting as much grass as possible. But we also use crops to fill feed deficits throughout the season. These include maize, fodder beet and lucerne.You will be involved in the planting, growing and harvesting/feeding decisions of these crops.
Continuing training is encouraged but we also want someone who is willing to learn how our system operates.
The farm is beach front with beach and river access available. We are 5 min from Okato, 10 min to Oakura and 25 to New Plymouth. There is a school bus at the gate.
