Are you passionate about livestock and ready to take the lead in managing a high-performing herd on a large-scale farm? We’re looking for a self-motivated and driven individual who is keen to lead from the front in challenging the normal and to strive for continual improvement in what we do on farm.

About the Role:

You’ll be responsible for the day-to-day and long-term management of up to 600+ cows. Working closely with the wider team, you’ll lead in areas of herd health, reproduction, milking efficiency, pasture management, farm maintenance and also assist in developing junior staff as necessary.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Daily oversight of the herd – health, feeding, milking, calving & breeding
  • Ensure milk quality standards are met

  • Ensure animal feeding and pasture management standards are met
  • Planning ahead to ensure efficient feeding, breeding, and maintenance schedules
  • Monitor animal welfare and maintain accurate records

  • Work proactively to prevent or minimise issues as they arise

  • Plan ahead for seasonal challenges and herd transitions

  • Implement and improve systems for productivity and sustainability

  • Record-keeping using farm management systems

  • Staff supervision and collaboration with other team members
