Job Description

We are looking for someone to join our 550-winter milking property in Okaihau 15 minutes from Kerikeri.

We are searching for someone who is wanting to progress in the dairy industry.

Currently we have 8 Filipinos, and 5 kiwi part time staff spread over 3 farms, we are searching for someone who has clear spoken English and is also fluent in Tagalog.

The aim of this role is to progress into team leadership where on farm staff would have clear guidance and direction of what is needed to be achieved on farm.

This would suit someone that can lead by example, can communicate well with others, and have the ability to grow into the roll over 12 months, as the business grows to 2000+ cows through four dairy sheds.

Initially you will be milking through a 40 ashb, on rolling contour, a centrally located cowshed and a feed pad. This farm has no calving, and Allflex collars for heat detection and drafting, with a current strong team.

What we are looking for.

  • Someone who understands pasture management and looking after grass to maximize pasture harvested.
  • Able to keep the farm and cowshed tidy and well presented
  • Be able to monitor milk quality to ensure we are sending top quality milk to the factory.
  • A team player that can lead a team of two to achieve top results and run their day efficiently.
