Herd Manager – Modern Goat Dairy (10 mins from Hamilton)
We are looking for an enthusiastic and experienced Herd Manager to join our dedicated team on a beautiful 110-hectare goat farm. Located just 10 minutes from Hamilton, this is an excellent opportunity to work with modern infrastructure and grow your career in a niche agricultural sector.
The Role: You will play a key part in the daily operations of our 1700 -strong goat herd.
- Milking Operations: Assisting with milking twice daily through our modern 80-bale rotary shed.
- General Farm Maintenance: Supporting the team with varied tasks including fencing, weed control, and yard work.
- Animal Welfare: Monitoring health and ensuring high standards of animal husbandry.
- Operating Machinery: Scraping out, feeding out, weed spraying ect.
About You: We value a positive attitude and a genuine interest in the industry. The ideal candidate will have:
- Dairy Experience: Some previous experience in dairy farming is required (goat experience is a bonus, but not essential).
- Machinery Skills: Basic tractor and machinery experience, with a keenness to upskill.
- Independence: The ability to work reliably on your own or as part of a supportive team.
- Growth Mindset: A desire to learn the specifics of goat farming and progress within the business.

We provide a clean and tidy three bedroom house with a nice deck and garden. Double Garage. The house is fitted with a heat pump. We have a strict no smoking/ vaping policy in the houses. Occupants will be expected to keep the property clean and tidy.
