This is more than just a farm management role — it’s an opportunity to lead within a progressive dairy business with strong values, excellent infrastructure, and genuine long-term vision.

What’s on offer:

  • 600-cow operation with a modern 54-bale rotary shed
  • Prime Hauraki Plains location, close to town and within easy reach of Auckland, Hamilton, Tauranga, and the Coromandel
  • Attractive roster and remuneration package, including a four-bedroom house.

Pouarua Farms is a large-scale dairy business near Ngatea on the Hauraki Plains, owned by five Hauraki Iwi: Ngāti Maru, Ngāti Pāoa, Ngāti Tamaterā, Ngāti Tara Tokanui, and Te Patukirikiri. Their investment is grounded in a deep connection to the land and a commitment to building long-term prosperity for their people, their business, and their community.

Pouarua has made substantial investment across the platforms of their farms, including new cowsheds, infrastructure upgrades, system improvements, and environmental enhancements. Their focus is on sustainable performance, strong people leadership, responsible guardianship of the land, and producing quality outcomes for future generations.

An exciting opportunity is now available for an experienced Farm Manager to lead ‘Farm A’, a 600-cow farm supported by a high-spec, 54-bale rotary shed featuring Protrack, in-shed feeding, and automatic cup removers. “ You’ll lead a team of 2 full-time staff, with support from casual part-time labour, and oversee the day-to-day performance of the farm across people leadership, milk production, animal health, pasture management, environmental compliance, and overall farm presentation.

This role will suit a capable and motivated leader who can build a high-performing team, maintain strong systems, manage budgets and farm targets, and contribute positively to the wider Pouarua business. Just as important is your alignment with Pouarua’s values — including guardianship, openness, responsibility, determination, and a commitment to people, animals, and the land.  With strong operational support, quality infrastructure, and clear systems already in place, this is a fantastic opportunity to step into a meaningful leadership role and make a real impact.

This position is suited to someone experienced, committed, and ready to contribute to a business with purpose, vision, and community at its heart.
