Farm Manager

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Farm Manager to join our dairy farm near Te Aroha.

This is suited to someone with a minimum of two full seasons of New Zealand dairy management experience who takes pride in producing quality results, enjoys working with livestock, and values a well-run farm.

Reporting directly to the farm owners, you will be responsible for the day-to-day management of the farm, working with staff to achieve production, animal health, environmental, and farm goals.

Key Responsibilities:

• Milking and dairy shed management
• Animal husbandry and maintaining high standards of animal welfare
• Animal health monitoring, treatment, and record keeping
• Pasture and feed management
• Mating, calving, and calf rearing.
• Machinery and farm equipment maintenance.
• Confident with driving tractors, using implements plus riding both two wheelers and quad bikes.
• Environmental and health & safety compliance
• Planning and organising daily farm operations
• Staff supervision and training when required. Working with a calf rearer who helps with getting cows and calves in and relief milks through out the season.
• General farm maintenance and duties

The successful applicant will have:

• A minimum of two seasons' New Zealand dairy management experience
• Proven practical skills across all aspects of dairy farm management
• Good pasture management
• Sound animal health knowledge
• Excellent communication and organisational skills
• The ability to work independently and take ownership of the farm
• A positive attitude, strong work ethic, and pride in presenting a tidy farm
• A genuine commitment to animal welfare and safe work practices
• A full New Zealand Driver Licence
• The ability to pass a pre-employment drug test if required
• Must be a New Zealand Citizen
