We operate a Once-A-Day (OAD) dairy system with a strong focus on animal health and welfare.

144 ha total, 120 ha dairy platform
Infrastructure:
40-aside herringbone shed downsized to 23-aside
In-shed feed system (40-unit capacity)
Feed System:
Silage (200 bales made annually), PK high-fibre blend; summer crop turnips
Herd:
195 Kiwi-Cross cows, ages 3–14
100–150 cows wintered off to support pasture management and lighter cows
Will increase herd size to a peak of 240 with replacements
Calving & Youngstock:
Target ~60 replacements each year (58 entering 26/27)
All R1 heifers grazed off farm
Calves reared by owners
Beef calves sold at ~4 days old
All calves raised on vat milk (no milk powder)
