Aber Fields Ltd is a Contract Milking company based 30mins from Ashburton, 15mins from Geraldine and 45mins from Timaru.
There are two sheds on the farm, with 600 cows through one shed (full spring calving) and the remaining through the second shed. The second shed is split calving with 400 calving in early Autumn and the remaining in Spring (1100 total). We have a barn for our Winter milking cows where they spend the nights and out on crop and grass during the day.
The farm runs Halter to help ensure we're utilising our pastures correctly, helping with heat and health monitoring and allowing our team to do more impactful and fulfilling work rather than following cows and putting fences up.
