175ha contoured/flat marine clay land on the Hauraki Plains
We milk through a 2015 New 44ASHB with protrack automatic drafting.
A primarily grass-based system with surplus harvested for silage or hay. Some crops are grown on farm, supported by a nearby run-off for young stock.
Calving commences mid-July milking up to 470 peak season in 2 herds. From around Christmas we milk one herd OAD,9 weather dependant) with the 2nd herd following to OAD around mid-February.
Replacement calves are weaned on the farm and grazed off post-weaning.
