We are milking 400 cows on a 75% flat farm in Titoki, Northland.
We are a full autumn calving system right at the tail end of calving, with mating starting on the 28th of June. We are a system 3 farm and run a split herd the majority of the season,
The cowshed is a 36ashb with recently installed automatic teat spray and automatic drafting gates.
We have rivers on either side of us so looking after the water leaving the farm is important to us, we have an ongoing riparian management plan which means planting natives and pest management is all part of the daily routine.
Young stock are run on our support blocks, and are part of the weekly routine.
