You need to understand and take responsibility for daily tasks such as running of the dairy, effluent management and feeding.  Complete tasks with minimal supervision and can supervise and train other staff.  Look for opportunities to work more effectively and efficiently to improve the business. Farm assistant required for this 800 cow dairy farm System 2-3 Milking through a 60 bale rotary shed. You will assist with the daily operation tasks as directed, including feeding, milking, animal health, effluent.  You will need to be aware of on-farm compliance, eg, health, safety and wellbeing, environment and animal welfare. Your dutues include but are not limited to: Carry out milk harvesting tasks safely and efficiently.  Solve milk quality issues as per farm policy.  Clean and maintain the milking plant and farm dairy equipment.  Carry out hygiene tasks, good stockmanship, assist with recording and maintaining all herd health treatments.  Report on calvings, assist with calving records, identify  health issues and appropriate treatments.   You will need at least 1 full season experience and a L2 Qualification preferred.
