We have jobs for two dairy farm assistants. This is for a 800 cow farm in Whanganui area, 10 minutes from Whanganui, milking through a 36 aside Herringbone shed. Experience is preferred, but not essential. You'll have a range of duties to keep you busy, interested and developing including: Milking twice a day shifting cows and feeding  fencing, weed control calving, calf rearing, shed cleaning and setup, identifying and alerting managers to sick cows Setting fences and other general farm duties Weekly hours are a minimum of 40, average 48 and a maximum of 50. Since farm work is dependent on a number of unknown factors like weather and animals, should you work beyond the agreed maximum hours in a fortnightly pay period. We are looking for a milk harvester to join our team. The successful applicant must be a team player who is reliable, has a positive attitude , great work ethic and reliable transportation. Experience is preferred but full training will be provided. Applicants must be willing to take a drug test. We are very flexible and are happy to have 1 person for the morning and 1 person for the afternoon or someone who would like to do both- the roster- days on/ off will be worked around the successful applicant.

Day to Day you’ll be involved in the development and maintenance of the existing farming operation. You’ll excel at fencing and have the ability to operate and maintain a variety of machinery, including tractors, excavators and other feed out and cropping equipment.
