We are looking for an enthusiastic, can do attitude  person to join our team of already 4, over our spring calving.  We are a split calving farm with spring being our main calving and we will be calving down just under 700 jersey cows.  The role essentially is calf rearing which you will be taking full responsibility of, within farm guidelines. This includes keeping track of when calves need to be dehorned and have their vaccinations. Over the peak calving period we will require the calf rearer to also help during the colostrum milking in which you will be in charge of milk testing all new mums colostrum to make sure we are keeping the best quality milk for our replacements from that day. A well maintained tidy dairy farm requires a competent experience calf rearer for the upcoming spring calving of 650 Friesian cows.  The position also offers ongoing farm maintenance work and stock duties throughout the season.   The applicant must be quiet with stock, experience in driving tractors and operating farm machinery. The person we are seeking will have excellent communication skills, be well organised, tidy, honest and reliable. During peak calving the hours would average 35hrs per week, thereafter 20hrs per week. The position would suit a semi retired farming couple, however we welcome applicants with the above skills and personal attributes.  Requires a NZ drivers licence, NZ residency or hold NZ work permit. Drive in Farm worker required for 290 cow farm in Morrinsville. You will be required to help with day to day running of the dairy farm including feeding out and milking in a 24 ashb with ACRs and in shed feeding.
