Seeking a capable experienced person who can demonstrate reliability and honesty in operating a system 2-3 seasonal dairy farm. 20 aside herringbone dairy with meal feeders- with superb cow flow. Effluent system all up to spec and all farm needs to perform well is  a person with experience and good pasture management skills. Maize is grown farm and grass silage comes in off farm as well as what is made for use. Generally supplement is fed in the paddocks mainly through the summer and autumn with meal feeders supplying spring supplement- being a PKE blend. Owner does the calf rearing on farm until weaning and then the calves go off to grazing. Average production for last 3 years- 110212kg MS - but this season - are 11,000 kg MS ahead of the best of the last 3 seasons to date with the use of more meal in the spring.

We are seeking a motivated, progressive farm manager for our 530 cow farm at Inangahua, 26kms north of Reefton. The farm has a Cow Barn for wintering cows as well as holding and feeding cows off pasture in periods of wet weather. The cows are milked in a 44 aside herringbone shed with ACRs, in shed meal feeding and a Protrac drafter. The successful applicant must have good grass management skills, understand the feed requirements of the cows, be quiet with stock, have good communication skills and the ability to manage staff. A 50/50 sharemilker is required for a 146ha high quality dairy farm milking 490 to 500 cows. The property is at Longburn, 5-10 minutes from Palmerston North. The average milk production over the last four years is 235,000 kg MS. The farm system is a 4-5 DairyNZ. The soil types are high quality river silts with 15-16 tonnes DM/ha harvested. Our contract milker is moving on to a bigger farm so a position is available for a dedicated contract milker. The farm has 360 jersey cows at peak. We are looking for a contract milker with a passion for cows . Loving jersey cows would be great. A love of animals is a must and so is good grass management skills and detention to details.
