Kaiwaiwai diaries has a herd manager role opend up on a winter milk farm in the south wairarapa.  We are looking for a person to fit with our long term staff with at least 3 years nz farming. Attributes are good animal health, and a interest in moving forwards in there farming career.  We peak milk 900 cows in spring and 450 in winter though a 44 bail rotary shed. Good time off and payed for hours worked.

Due to our senior team member leaving after 6 years, we have a position open for this coming season on our progressive farm, in the sunny district of Kahutara. The farm is well located in relation to the well-respected Kahutara primary school and community, borders on to the Ruamahanga river (great for swimming and fishing!), and 20 minutes away from the coast. Featherston, Greytown, and Martinborough are also a short 15-20 minute drive away.  We milk 650 cows with strategic use of OAD on part of the herd at different times of the season. ABOUT THE ROLE We are seeking an experienced assistant manager (2IC) starting 1 June 2025. The role will report to the Farm manager. We would expect you to have a minimum of 3 seasons’ experience, be great at milking in our 50 bail rotary and have pasture management knowledge, be right on top of animal health and wellbeing, have good people management skills and be serious about developing your career in dairy.
