 Due to unforeseen circumstances, we are looking for a new 2IC. We located 5 minutes from Invercargill. We milk 500 high producing Friesian cows through a 44 aside herringbone with automatic cup removers, in-shed feeding, pro track and allflex cow collars that are used for animal health and heat detection. Cows are wintered and calved on farm in a wintering barn. We are looking for a calf rearer to join our team this coming season. Our farm is located between Riversdale and Mandeville, 15 minutes away from Gore and 12 minutes away from Balfour. We milk 1200 cows and looking to keep 230 calves as replacements and the rest will be bobbies. You will be working along with the Farm Manager and another person from the team if needed. Winton, Southland. We are looking for a calf rearer to rear up to 600 beef calves on an ad-lib feed system rom the beginning of August until early October. Calves arrive at four days old form our dairy farms and feed through to 70+ kg and then transferred to our beef unit. Calves will be predominantly Friesian bulls. The successful applicant needs to be able to work independently and have a good understanding of animal health and a desire to deliver quality calves. The calf rearer will need to take responsibility for additional tasks like nait movements and  coordinating de-horning

We are looking for 2 people for a 2-3 month placement on our farms over our busy period of spring/calving August-September only, we are fully staffed outside of calving. The roster would be a 6 on 1 off roster, This may suit a couple as both would have the same time off and one person would be working on each farm. We are now in need of a Dairy Farm Assistant to come and milk our herd of 500 cows through our 64-bail rotary with ACR.  If you have no experience, then don’t worry we are willing to teach you everything you need to know.
