Looking for a keen enthusiastic person to assist Herd Manager in the day to day running of our dairy operation. We milk 365 cows through a 28aside herringbone on a permanent once a day system. We are seeking a person with patience to care for calves, good communication, great work ethic, physical fitness and must have reliable transportation to and from the farm. We require an extra person to join our team of milkers. It is a flexible roster from week to week but we need somebody who is able to do at least 3 mornings a week (weekdays or weekend - days can vary or be the same if you want a set day). We milk early as our team is made up of milkers who go to other daytime jobs or are Mums who need to get home to their kids earlier. So morning milkings are approx. 4-7am at the moment. There maybe afternoon milkings tues - thurs available during the week also if interested, These usually run approx 1.30-4/4.30pm. We are about 7-8 minutes from each boundary of Palmerston North and Feilding, so easy driving distance, (Bunnythorpe area). Always 2 milkers in the shed. You are there to assist and carry out usual duties of a relief milker. Peak cows 370, but we milk all year round, so always milkings available. Split calving, 70 autumn calving cows and 300 spring calving cows.
