We are looking for 2 people for a 2-3 month placement on our farms over our busy period of spring/calving August-September only, we are fully staffed outside of calving. The roster would be a 6 on 1 off roster, This may suit a couple as both would have the same time off and one person would be working on each farm. It is our busy period on farm as we will be calving 1450 Cows within 2 months.  We have done this every year and it's great to have an extra set of hands during this time. This is apart of Dairytime Ltd a Contract Milking business that runs two farms side by side, that are run to a very high standard. We are looking for an enthusiastic and reliable person to help milk our 600-cow farm. The herd is milked on a modern 60 bale rotary which sits central on a predominately flat 210ha farm. The main duties involved will be milking and the odd general day to day jobs.  

We have a fixed term position available for someone looking for a unique roll. The position, combines calf rearing, milk harvesting, tractor driving and maintenance work. The successful candidate will be in charge  of rearing 450 calves on the dairy farm, tractor driving/cultivating on the runoff and dairy farm, shifting irrigators and also filling a milk harvester roll on the dairy farm. Due to promotion within our team we now require a new calf rearer to help at our 950 cow dairy farm in Lauriston (Thompsons Track) which is 20min from Ashburton and 15min to Rakaia and Methven. This position is a drive in as there is no accommodation available. This position will be for a fixed term period from Mid July 2025 to October 2025, it will be for approx. 40hrs per week and the roster can be discussed at the interview, there is potentially some work from the beginning of June for the right person. Experience is a help but not essential as full training and support of our system will be given. The desirable applicant should have atleast three (3) years of NZ dairy experience and had finished or currently doing AgITO level 3. Off-shore applicants are not encouraged to apply. We are seeking an energetic and capable individual to run our mostly in shed calf rearing programme. We calve 985 cows and have good shedding and systems. You will be well trained and well supported, with most of the paddock mobs being fed and sorted by other staff members. This role requires a person who is systematic, has an eye for detail and can handle the very physical aspects of the job.
