Winton, Southland. We are looking for a calf rearer to rear up to 600 beef calves on an ad-lib feed system rom the beginning of August until early October. Calves arrive at four days old form our dairy farms and feed through to 70+ kg and then transferred to our beef unit. Calves will be predominantly Friesian bulls. The successful applicant needs to be able to work independently and have a good understanding of animal health and a desire to deliver quality calves. The calf rearer will need to take responsibility for additional tasks like nait movements and  coordinating de-horning 

All duties associated with running a year round milking operation as per the dairynz farm assistant job description. Milking 400-500 cows through a 30ashb. 6 months dairy farm experience required. Must have drivers licence and complete pre employment drug testing aswell as random drug testing. 1 bedroom self contained cabin available for rent.

We are looking for 2 people for a 2-3 month placement on our farms over our busy period of spring/calving August-September only, we are fully staffed outside of calving. The roster would be a 6 on 1 off roster, This may suit a couple as both would have the same time off and one person would be working on each farm.
